BARE BONES YOUTH TRIUMPH

When our youth section entered "The Musicians" by Patrick Marber into the Hereford County Drama Festival at The Courtyard Theatre, Hereford our ultimate ambition was to carry off the Stennett Trophy as Best Youth Performance. However, in the event the cast turned in a wonderfully accurate and sensitive performance and exceeded all of our ambitions. The Janis Lewer Trophy for the Best Youth Performance was awarded jointly to our co-leads, James Lester and Oliver Bartle. The adjudicators Champagne Award for 'a theatrical magic moment' was presented to the company for the realism of it's orchestral mime and the sought after Stennett Trophy made our evening complete. But all was not over! When adjudicator Scott Marshall presented the company with The David Garrick Cup for best production in the whole festival we could scarcely believe just what we had acheived. So we now need to draw breath and prepare to do it all over again in the Western Division Finals in Much Wenlock on 26th April. We all recognise that competing with five other winning adult teams is not going to be easy but win, lose or draw we're going to enjoy the experience!
